What is the Dark Kingdom?

The Dark Kingdom is the term that J.P. Timmons uses to refer to the kingdom of Satan, which is also called the kingdom of darkness, the kingdom of evil, or the kingdom of this world. It is the opposite and enemy of the kingdom of God, which is also called the kingdom of light, the kingdom of righteousness, or the kingdom of heaven.

The Dark Kingdom is not a myth or a fairy tale. It is a real and present reality that affects every aspect of our lives and our world. It is a spiritual realm that operates behind the scenes of the natural realm, influencing and manipulating people, events, and circumstances to fulfill its agenda.

The Dark Kingdom has a hierarchy and a structure that is similar to a military organization. It has a leader, who is Satan, also known as Lucifer, the devil, or the dragon. It has generals, who are called principalities or rulers. It has officers, who are called powers or authorities. It has soldiers, who are called demons or evil spirits. And it has spies and agents, who are called witches, warlocks, sorcerers, magicians, mediums, psychics, false prophets, false teachers, false apostles, false christs, and false brethren.

How does the Dark Kingdom operate?

The Dark Kingdom operates by using its agents and soldiers to carry out its assignments and missions. These assignments and missions are designed to oppose and hinder the will and plan of God for His people and His creation. They are also designed to deceive and destroy as many people as possible by leading them away from God and into sin and death.

Some of the assignments and missions of the Dark Kingdom include:

  • Blinding the minds of unbelievers so that they cannot see the light of the gospel (2 Corinthians 4:4)

  • Snatching away the word of God from people's hearts so that they cannot believe and be saved (Luke 8:12)

  • Sowing tares among the wheat in God's field so that they can corrupt and choke out the good seed (Matthew 13:24-30)

  • Spreading false doctrines and heresies in the church so that they can deceive and lead astray many (1 Timothy 4:1-3)

  • Causing divisions and schisms in the body of Christ so that they can weaken and destroy its unity (1 Corinthians 1:10-13)

  • Attacking God's servants and saints with persecution, affliction, temptation, accusation, oppression, depression, sickness, disease, poverty, lack, bondage, fear, doubt, unbelief, discouragement, despair, etc. (Ephesians 6:10-18)

  • Influencing and controlling the rulers and governments of this world so that they can establish their agenda and laws (Ephesians 6:12)

  • Corrupting and polluting the culture and society with immorality, violence, idolatry, witchcraft, occultism, etc. (Galatians 5:19-21)

The four types of demons

J.P. Timmons classifies demons into four types based on their appearance and function. These are:

  • Spirit demons: These are invisible spirits that can enter into people or animals and possess them. They can also influence people's thoughts, emotions, words, and actions. They are responsible for many mental illnesses, addictions, phobias, compulsions, etc.

  • Humanoid demons: These are demons that have a human-like appearance but with some animal features. They can appear as men or women but with horns, tails, claws, fangs, etc. They can also shape-shift into different forms. They are responsible for many sexual sins, perversions, seductions, etc.

  • Animal demons: These are demons that have an animal-like appearance but with some human features. They can appear as lions, bears, dogs, cats, snakes, etc. but with eyes, hands, feet etc. They can also shape-shift into different forms. They are responsible for many physical attacks, harassments , torments , etc.

  • Hybrid demons: These are demons that have a mixture of human, animal , and other features. They can appear as dragons, serpents , beasts , monsters , etc. They are responsible for many supernatural signs, wonders , miracles , etc. that deceive people into following them.

The seven kingdoms of darkness

J.P. Timmons identifies seven regions of the earth that are under the control of Satan and his principalities. These are:

  • Africa: This is the region that is ruled by Satan himself. It is the most spiritually dark and oppressed continent in the world. It is where witchcraft, idolatry, occultism, and human sacrifice are rampant. It is also where many missionaries and Christians face severe persecution and martyrdom.

  • Asia: This is the region that is ruled by the principality of Babylon. It is the most populous and diverse continent in the world. It is where many religions and philosophies originated, such as Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, Taoism, Confucianism, etc. It is also where many false gods and idols are worshipped.

  • Europe: This is the region that is ruled by the principality of Greece. It is the most influential and powerful continent in the world. It is where many civilizations and cultures developed, such as Rome, Greece, France, Germany, Britain, etc. It is also where many scientific and artistic achievements were made.

  • North America: This is the region that is ruled by the principality of Persia. It is the most prosperous and wealthy continent in the world. It is where many nations and peoples migrated, such as Canada, USA, Mexico, etc. It is also where many political and economic systems were established.

  • South America: This is the region that is ruled by the principality of Egypt. It is the most diverse and colorful continent in the world. It is where many ancient and modern civilizations coexist, such as Inca, Maya, Aztec, Brazil, Argentina, etc. It is also where many natural and cultural wonders are found.

  • Australia: This is the region that is ruled by the principality of Assyria. It is the most isolated and unique continent in the world. It is where many animals and plants are endemic, such as kangaroo, koala, platypus, eucalyptus, etc. It is also where many aboriginal and indigenous peoples live.

  • Antarctica: This is the region that is ruled by the principality of Gog and Magog. It is the most mysterious and unknown continent in the world. It is where many secrets and mysteries are hidden under the ice and snow. It is also where many signs and wonders will occur in the end times.

How can we resist the Dark Kingdom?

The Dark Kingdom may seem formidable and frightening, but we have nothing to fear as Christians. We have been given everything we need to resist and overcome it by God's grace and power. We have been transferred from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light by faith in Jesus Christ (Colossians 1:13). We have been given authority over all the power of the enemy by His name (Luke 10:19). We have been given weapons of warfare that are not carnal but mighty through God to pull down strongholds by His word (2 Corinthians 10:4-5). We have been given armor of God that can protect us from every fiery dart of the wicked one by His blood (Ephesians 6:10-18).

Let us look at some of these spiritual weapons and strategies that we have as Christians to fight against the Dark Kingdom.

The authority of the believer

The first weapon that we have as Christians is our authority in Christ. We have been given authority over all things by Jesus Christ who has all authority in heaven and on earth (Matthew 28:18). We have been made kings and priests unto God who can reign with Him on earth (Revelation 5:10). We have been seated with Him in heavenly places far above all principality and power (Ephesians 2:6).

We can use our authority in Christ to bind and loose whatever we will on earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 18:18). We can use our authority in Christ to cast out demons in His name (Mark 16:17). We can use our authority in Christ to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). We can use our authority in Christ to decree a thing and it shall be established (Job 22:28).

The armor of God

The second weapon that we have as Christians is our armor of God. We have been given armor of God that can protect us from every attack of the enemy. We have been given armor of God that can enable us to stand firm in the evil day. We have been given armor of God that can equip us to fight the good fight of faith.

We can put on the armor of God by faith and prayer every day. We can put on the belt of truth that can gird our loins with integrity and honesty. We can put on the breastplate of righteousness that can guard our hearts with purity and holiness. We can put on the shoes of the gospel of peace that can prepare our feet with readiness and willingness. We can take up the shield of faith that can quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. We can take up the helmet of salvation that can protect our minds with assurance and hope. We can take up the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God that can pierce through every lie and deception.

The word of God

The third weapon that we have as Christians is our word of God. We have been given word of God that is living and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). We have been given word of God that is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16). We have been given word of God that is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path (Psalm 119:105).

We can use our word of God to resist and overcome the enemy by speaking it out loud with faith and authority. We can use our word of God to declare what God says about us, about Him, and about our situation. We can use our word of God to rebuke and command the enemy to flee from us. We can use our word of God to claim and receive the promises and blessings that God has for us. We can use our word of God to meditate on it day and night so that we can be prosperous and successful (Joshua 1:8).

The blood of Jesus

The fourth weapon that we have as Christians is our blood of Jesus. We have been given blood of Jesus that cleanses us from all sin (1 John 1:7). We have been given blood of Jesus that redeems us from the curse of the law (Galatians 3:13). We have been given blood of Jesus that justifies us before God (Romans 5:9). We have been given blood of Jesus that sanctifies us and sets us apart for God (Hebrews 13:12).

We can use our blood of Jesus to resist and overcome the enemy by pleading it over ourselves, our loved ones, and our possessions. We can use our blood of Jesus to break every curse, bond, yoke, chain, and stronghold that the enemy has placed on us or our ancestors. We can use our blood of Jesus to cancel every accusation, condemnation, and judgment that the enemy has brought against us. We can use our blood of Jesus to access the throne of grace and mercy where we can find help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16).

The name of Jesus

The fifth weapon that we have as Christians is our name of Jesus. We have been given name of Jesus that is above every name (Philippians 2:9). We have been given name of Jesus that has all power in heaven and on earth (Matthew 28:18). We have been given name of Jesus that every knee must bow to and every tongue must confess (Philippians 2:10-11). We have been given name of Jesus that is the only way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6).

We can use our name of Jesus to resist and overcome the enemy by calling upon it in faith and confidence. We can use our name of Jesus to heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons (Matthew 10:8). We can use our name of Jesus to ask anything in His will and He will do it for us (John 14:13-14). We can use our name of Jesus to enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise (Psalm 100:4).

Prayer and fasting

prayer and fasting as a means of communicating with God and expressing our dependence on Him. We have been given prayer and fasting as a means of seeking His face and His will for our lives and situations. We have been given prayer and fasting as a means of humbling ourselves before Him and repenting of our sins.

We can use our prayer and fasting to resist and overcome the enemy by drawing near to God and He will draw near to us (James 4:8). We can use our prayer and fasting to ask God for wisdom, guidance, direction, and revelation (James 1:5). We can use our prayer and fasting to intercede for others and stand in the gap for them (Ezekiel 22:30). We can use our prayer and fasting to break every yoke and loose every bond that the enemy has placed on us or others (Isaiah 58:6).

Praise and worship

The seventh weapon that we have as Christians is our praise and worship. We have been given praise and worship as a means of honoring God and expressing our love and gratitude to Him. We have been given praise and worship as a means of magnifying God and declaring His greatness and goodness. We have been given praise and worship as a means of entering into His presence and enjoying His fellowship.

We can use our praise and worship to resist and overcome the enemy by lifting up our voices and making a joyful noise unto the Lord (Psalm 98:4). We can use our praise and worship to silence the enemy and the avenger (Psalm 8:2). We can use our praise and worship to confuse and defeat the enemy (2 Chronicles 20:21-22). We can use our praise and worship to inhabit the praises of God's people (Psalm 22:3).

What are some testimonies from the book?

In his book, J.P. Timmons shares many testimonies and stories from his own life and ministry that will inspire you to engage in spiritual combat with faith and courage. He tells about his encounters with the Dark Kingdom in various places around the world, such as Africa, India, America, etc. He also tells about how God delivered him and others from the attacks of the enemy through His power and grace.

Here are some of the testimonies from the book that will encourage you to read it for yourself.

The witch doctor's curse

J.P. Timmons tells about how he was cursed by a witch doctor in Africa who wanted to kill him because he was preaching the gospel in his village. The witch doctor sent a demon to attack him at night while he was sleeping in his tent. The demon came in the form of a huge snake that wrapped itself around his body and tried to suffocate him. J.P. Timmons felt paralyzed and helpless as he could not breathe or move. He tried to call on the name of Jesus but no sound came out of his mouth.

But then he remembered that he had authority over all the power of the enemy in Jesus' name. He began to rebuke the demon in his mind with faith and authority. He commanded it to leave him alone in Jesus' name. He also pleaded the blood of Jesus over himself for protection. As he did so, he felt the snake loosen its grip on him and slither away. He was free from the curse of the witch doctor by the power of Jesus' name.

The demon-possessed woman

J.P. Timmons tells about how he delivered a woman who was possessed by a legion of demons in India. The woman was brought to him by her husband who was desperate for help. The woman had been tormented by demons for many years. She had been taken to many temples, shrines, priests, gurus, etc., but none could help her. She had also been taken to many hospitals, clinics, doctors, psychiatrists, etc., but none could cure her.

J.P. Timmons prayed for her in Jesus' name and commanded the demons to come out of her. As he did so, he saw many different types of demons manifesting through her. He saw human-like demons, animal-like demons, hybrid-like demons, etc. He also saw the woman's body contorting and twisting in unnatural ways. He heard the demons speaking through her in different languages and voices. He felt the demons resisting and fighting back.

But he did not give up or give in. He continued to pray and fast for her for several days. He continued to use the word of God, the blood of Jesus, and the name of Jesus against the demons. He continued to bind and loose, to cast out and to fill in with the Holy Spirit. He continued to stand on God's promises and power. And finally, he saw the woman set free from the legion of demons by the power of Jesus' name.

The angelic visitation

J.P. Timmons tells about how he received a visit from an angel who gave him a message from God about his ministry. The angel came to him while he was praying and fasting in his room. The angel was dressed in white and had a bright countenance. The angel greeted him and told him that he had been sent by God to deliver a message to him.

The message was that God had called him to be a prophet to the nations and that he had a special anointing and assignment from God. The message also included some specific instructions and directions for his ministry, such as where to go, what to do, whom to meet, etc. The message also included some warnings and cautions for his ministry, such as what to avoid, what to expect, whom to trust, etc.

J.P. Timmons listened carefully and attentively to the message from the angel. He asked some questions and received some answers from the angel. He thanked the angel for coming and delivering the message from God. He also thanked God for sending the angel and speaking to him. He wrote down everything that the angel had told him and kept it in his heart.
